> OBJECTIVES

  • Develop tools for gene function validation

    • Optimize the existing Agrobacterium tumefaciens and A. rhizogenes-mediated transformation processes
      • Reduction of time requirement for regeneration of transformed plants.
      • Develop selection strategies avoiding the use of antibiotics and herbicides (positive selection, transformation without any marker gene..).

    • Establish a collection of vectors with tissue specific and/or inducible promoters

    • Develop RNA interference technology (RNAi) by stable or transient transformation.

    • Develop Agrobacterium-mediated transformation with large DNA fragments (BIBAC, TAC, cosmids).

  • Share the technology between ICGN members
